When Ruth and her parents take a motor trip from Chicago to Alabama to visit her grandma, they rely on a pamphlet called "The Negro Motorist Green Book" to find places that will serve them. Includes facts about "The Green Book."

    I really like this book! My favorite part was when they made it to grandma's house. It was nice of Ruth to give the little boy Brown Bear.

    I loved the book because it was interesting. But i was upset because of the eway ruth and her family were being treated . I would definetly recomend this book.

    I really liked this book because it told a story how people were treated in the past because of thier color. We have came a long way since then. The best part is finding the green book.

    This book is a great storey becuase it about a little girl name ruth she had a difficult life but she try to enjoy with her family.I would give this book a great story to me.

    I loved this book! It was a little sad how they had to look EVERYWHERE just to find a gas station that would allow them to get gas. Recommend it to everybody! I give it **** stars.

    i thought this book was exciting and the pictures were fasanating to look at i liked how it took place in the olden days and also they got to go visit all around the contry. it looks like they had a bunch of fun !

    ****I like this book because they travled to almabama to see someone of there family like me before.And i feel bad that she had to give up her brown teddy bear and some of the poeple wouldnt let them use the rest room.

    this girl had a hard life because it was in the time with african andamerican.Ruth had tried to help her mother and farther for a job.Untill her farther gave her a green book she wrote things that can help her.Later she just know that she just have to love her family.i give this book four stars.

    I think it was a very great idea to create the green book back then. It could easily be used to find hotels and restaurants for black citizens and very affordable only 75 cents! It was a great book, it is great that black citizens could find places to eat, sleep,etc.****

    I really liked this book. It was very sad that people were being mean to Ruth's family. There was still plenty of nice people that helped Ruth's family through it. It was really sweet that Ruth gave her bear to a little boy when he was traveling for the first time.
